Purpose & Scientific Principle
Contour lines can be obtained by connecting points with the same altitude on the ground to form a closed curve, vertically projecting it onto a horizontal plane, and scaling it on the drawing. Visitors can pile the sand into undulating hills at will in the sand table, and then they can see the contour lines projected by the projector. Through interaction with exhibits, you can master the correspondence between contour maps and reality, and understand the impact of terrain on the surface form. 2. Function description: This exhibition item consists of a high-precision recognition sensor, a projector and a physical sand table. It can not only present three-dimensional topography, but can even be transformed directly on the sand table. By simply modifying the sandbox layout, users can create towering mountains and volcanoes, or valleys and flowing water. As users begin to create canyons and peaks, the sensor automatically monitors changes in terrain height, displaying different color gradations as the terrain changes.
How to Operate
(1) Pile the sand in the sand table arbitrarily. (2) Watch the contours projected by the projector. (3) The experience ends and the audience leaves.
