Purpose & Scientific Principle

The exhibits use electromechanical interaction to help the audience understand extinct animals and plants, learn the characteristics of animals and plants, the time of their extinction, the reasons for the extinction of animals, and let the audience realize the importance of protecting the environment.

How to Operate

The exhibition items are composed of extinct animal and plant models, lifting mechanisms, sound concentrators, graphics, sensors, electronic control systems, etc.

The exhibition items have multiple cylindrical shapes suspended from the top. Some of the cylindrical shapes are equipped with an electric lifting device. Transparent jars are hung below the lifting device. Light strips and models of extinct animals and plants are placed in the jars. A sound-concentrating cover and a trigger sensor are set up in the middle area of the cylindrical shape, and the animal and plant extinction timeline graphic and text are set on the ground below, which is also the trigger area for the exhibits.

The audience enters the timeline graphic area, and the lifting mechanism controls the transparent jars to descend one by one. The audience can see the model in the jar and hear the introduction of the animal and plant. After the audio introduction ends, the lifting mechanism controls the model to rise.

Extinct birds: elephant bird, Madagascar snake eagle, broad-billed parrot, silver-spotted black pigeon, pink-headed duck, Ryukyu kingfisher;

Extinct mammals: European wild horses, Greenland reindeer, African blue antelopes, Japanese wolves, Chinese rhinos, and Taiwanese clouded leopards;

Extinct plants: Liaoning ancient fruit, seed fern, Bo's Liaoning branch, Bennei cycad, etc.

Extinct animals are animals that have disappeared. Among them are: the largest puffin in the world, the defenseless Stella manatee, the largest lion on earth, the wolf distributed in the southernmost part, the bear that only lives in Africa, and the only pure white leopard in the world.

The 300 years from the 17th century to the end of the 20th century can be said to be a period when the world gradually moved from modern times to modern times. In these 300 years, human civilization has developed rapidly, the times are progressing, and the earth is being changed by us little by little. At the same time, in these 300 years, more than 300 beautiful animals on the earth have left us forever.
