Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibits cultivate children's observation ability and courage by observing the rules of the pendulum and avoiding the pendulum, and cultivate the scientific spirit of courage to explore.
How to Operate
The exhibits consist of suspension fulcrums, pendulums, and ropes. The pendulum is suspended below the UN science spacecraft via a rope. When the audience participates, push the pendulum, observe the movement pattern of the pendulum, and choose the right time to pass through to avoid being hit by the pendulum.
A pendulum is a device that can produce reciprocating swings. One end of a weightless thin rod or an inextensible thin flexible rope is suspended at a certain point in the gravity field, and a heavy ball is fixed at the other end to form a pendulum. If the ball is limited to swinging in the vertical plane, it is a planar pendulum. If the ball is not limited to the vertical plane, it is a spherical pendulum.
The approximate periodic formula of a simple pendulum motion is: T=2π√(L/g). Among them, L is the pendulum length, and g is the local gravity acceleration.
