Purpose & Scientific Principle
Help the audience intuitively understand the underground world and the animals and plants in the underground world through scene restoration. Encourage children to strengthen their connection with nature through exploration, and stimulate children's emotions of getting close to and loving nature.
How to Operate
The exhibits consist of mountain landscaping, underground environment landscaping, and soil physical scenery boxes.
The exhibits create a large-scale underground environment, and a variety of exhibits are set up in the environment to describe underground animals and plants and the environment in which they live. On the wall inside the exhibit, a vertical physical scene box is set up. Real soil taken from the same place from the surface to the depth is placed inside the scene box to help the audience understand the difference between soil at different depths.
The plants in the soil are rich and diverse, and the more common ones include potatoes, tubers, radishes, carrots, peanuts, yams, etc. Potatoes are one of the five staple foods in China, with high nutritional value, strong adaptability and large yields, while radish is a common vegetable and a biennial herb.
There are many kinds of animals in the soil, common ones include earthworms, ants, mice, longhorned beetles, hamsters, etc. Among them, earthworms are annelids with soft, long and round bodies. Ants are insects that like to build nests underground and live in groups. Mice are the animals with the fastest reproduction and strong survivability among mammals.
There are various species of animals and plants in the soil, and the relationship between them includes mutualism, parasitism, symbiosis, predatory symbiosis, etc. For example, a small number of animals in the soil will feed on the roots or stems of plants, so the relationship between the two is predatory, and earthworms can loosen the soil for plants, so the relationship between the two is mutualism.
