Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibits let the audience understand the principles of the air-floating platform through interesting racing games.
How to Operate
The exhibits consist of booths, fans, buttons, discs, electronic control systems, etc.
A fan is installed inside the booth, and two air-floating tracks (synchronously started), a release mechanism, a disc and a storage tank are installed on the table. When the audience participates, they select disks representing different spacecrafts from the storage slot and place them on the release mechanism of the outer air flotation track. When the start button is pressed, the fan starts and the disc is suspended on the platform, blocked by the release device and unable to move. Press the start button, the release mechanism is retracted, and the discs quickly advance along the track to see which disc reaches the end first.
When the start button is pressed, the inner air flotation track starts simultaneously. The audience can also place the disc on the inner track, watch the circular motion of the disc, and think about the principle of the air flotation platform.
In the mechanical system, balance refers to an object in an inertial reference system that is acted upon by several forces and remains at rest, or in a state of uniform linear motion, or in a state of uniform rotation around an axis. The object is called a state of equilibrium, referred to as the "balance" of the object. Two forces act on the same object. If the object remains stationary or moves in a straight line at a uniform speed, then the effects of the two forces cancel each other out (the resultant force is 0), and we say that the two forces are balanced. In the exhibition, the gravity received by the disk and the supporting force of the air on the disk balance each other, so the disk can float.
