Purpose & Scientific Principle
Using the method of scene restoration, the audience can observe the environment through the eyes of animals, understand the different observation characteristics of each animal's eyes, and cultivate their scientific inquiry ability.
How to Operate
The exhibition is equipped with three groups of animal head models (eagle, bee, fish), and the animal heads can be rotated. The eyes of the three sets of head models are respectively equipped with artificial and simulated eyes of the animal.
When participating, the audience first chooses a kind of eye to understand. Stand on the small platform in front of the head model, align the eyes with the observation hole, hold the handrail with both hands and swing it left and right, observe the surrounding virtual environment seen through the eyes of the animal, experience the difference between the world seen by the eyes of animals and the world seen by human eyes, and understand the adaptation of animals to the living environment behind different eye structures.
Fish: camera, monitor; Eagle: camera, monitor; Bee: compound eyes with optical lenses.
Research confirms that most mammals are color blind. For example, cows, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, etc. can hardly distinguish colors. The colors reflected in their eyes are only black, white, and gray, which is as monotonous as when we watch black and white TV. In the Spanish bullring, the matador challenges the bull with a red cape. People thought that the red color irritated the bull, but in fact it was because the cape kept shaking in front of the bull's eyes, which annoyed it and made it complain. If the cape of another color was put on, the bull would have the same reaction.
