Purpose & Scientific Principle
Observe plant roots and underground biological scenery boxes, think about the classification, shape and function of root systems, and cultivate children's natural cognition.
How to Operate
The exhibition items consist of half-sectioned plant root models, underground biological scenery boxes, illustrations and explanatory boards, and live ant breeding.
An underground environment scene is set up, and root models of various plants are set up on the soil profile of the wall, so that the audience can intuitively see the roots growing underground;
Set up multiple underground biological scenery boxes so that the audience can see the real living environment of the creatures;
Set up an ant breeding box and the audience can see the living conditions of live ants.
The root system is the collective name for all the roots of a plant. There are two types of root systems, tap root systems and fibrous root systems. The taproot system has a well-developed and obvious taproot, which is easily distinguished from the lateral roots. The root system composed of this taproot and its lateral roots at all levels is called the taproot system. Most gymnosperms and dicots have tap root systems; such as dicots cotton, dandelions, soybeans, tomatoes, peaches, etc. The main root of monocots is underdeveloped and their root system is fibrous.
