Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibits popularize Bernoulli's principle to the audience through electromechanical interaction.
How to Operate
The exhibits are mainly composed of small balls, water spray mechanisms, water pumps, etc.
Water spray mechanism: Stainless steel paint-shaped nozzle, with a copper nozzle installed inside. Due to Bernoulli's principle, the pressure is low where the flow rate is high, and the pressure is high where the flow rate is low. The small ball will be steadily floated to the top by the fountain water.
In a fluid system, such as air flow and water flow, the faster the flow speed, the smaller the pressure generated by the fluid. This is the "Bernoulli's theorem" discovered in 1738 by Daniel Bernoulli, known as the "Father of Fluid Mechanics". The content of Bernoulli's theorem is: According to Bernoulli's theorem when an incompressible, ideal fluid flows steadily along a flow tube, when the flow speed increases, the static pressure of the fluid will decrease; conversely, when the flow speed decreases, the static pressure of the fluid will increase. However, the sum of the static pressure and dynamic pressure of the fluid, called the total pressure, always remains unchanged. Bernoulli's theorem is the basis for the principle of aircraft takeoff. Bernoulli's theorem has wide applications in hydraulics and applied fluid mechanics. And because it is a finite relational expression, it is often used to replace the differential equation of motion, so it is also of great significance in the theoretical research of fluid mechanics.
