Purpose & Scientific Principle
This exhibition is equipped with a real Mozi ground station, which can conduct real communication with the Mozi satellite. The docking process can be seen around the venue for time-lapse photography. It can also be displayed in conjunction with the exhibition of star-ground integrated quantum Internet, showing the broad development prospects of quantum communications.
How to Operate
The exhibition is on the roof of the venue, with real Mozi ground receiving devices and video equipment. This device can realize laser tracking experiments with the Micius satellite. During docking, viewers can see red lasers emitted from the ground station and green lasers emitted from the Mozi. Due to daylight and satellite orbit limitations, the demonstration experiment can only be conducted at night. This exhibition item can be linked with the star-ground integrated exhibition item, and simultaneous demonstrations can be carried out in the exhibition hall; time-lapse photography competitions, live broadcast activities, etc. can also be carried out.
On December 30, 2019, the miniaturized movable quantum satellite ground station undertaken by USTC, USTC Guodun, and Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology successfully completed satellite-ground docking with the "Mozi" quantum science experimental satellite in Jinan. This is the world's first miniaturized movable quantum satellite ground station.
