Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibition item demonstrates the interference phenomenon of light and electrons and the collapse of wave functions through multimedia interaction and physical experimental equipment, and compares it with macroscopic particles to reflect the differences in macroscopic and microscopic material properties.
How to Operate
This exhibition simulates a prototype experiment and a thought experiment, demonstrating the theory of matter waves. It also displays the classic thought experiment in quantum double-slit interference, leading the audience to think about the nature of quantum mechanics.
The exhibition items consist of launch guns, variable single and double slit baffles, multimedia screens, monitor models, etc. The audience selects waves, electrons, or table tennis balls, picks up the launch gun, and shoots waves, "electrons" or table tennis balls at single slits, double slits, or round holes, and the phenomena of diffraction and interference are displayed on the display. When the audience chooses to emit electrons, they can click the observation button and the monitor will turn on. At this time, the audience will emit electrons towards a single or double slit, and the diffraction and interference phenomena will disappear.
