Purpose & Scientific Principle
Demonstrates the working principle of the "Mozi" quantum science experimental satellite. The device can simulate quantum key distribution, quantum state remote transmission and other processes. At the same time, it can interact with the real ground station exhibits on the roof of the venue and play the real docking process between the ground station and the Mozi.
How to Operate
The exhibition consists of a fusion projection device and a Micius model projector, and is linked with the Micius ground station, an exhibit on the roof of the venue. When no one is interacting, the audience can watch the real docking video between the Mozi and the ground station through the projection. If you rotate the gimbal, it will start to participate in the docking transmission between the Mozi and the ground station. The quantum communication satellite network includes the Micius satellite, the Quantum Science Experiment Center in Hefei, four ground stations in Xinglong, Hebei, Nanshan, Xinjiang, Delingha, Qinghai, Lijiang, Yunnan, and the quantum teleportation experimental station in Ali, Tibet. In addition, there are quantum communication ground stations in Vienna and Graz. Through the projector, the scope and communication process of the quantum communication satellite network can be fully demonstrated, such as satellite-to-ground communication, ground station communication, etc.
Communication confidentiality is a key technology that all countries strive to achieve. Quantum communication usually uses single photons as physical carriers, and the most direct way is to transmit through optical fibers or near-ground free space channels. How to achieve secure, long-distance, and practical quantum communication is the biggest challenge in this field and a common goal that the international academic community has been striving for for decades. Mozi is the first space quantum science experimental satellite developed by China. It enables our country to realize quantum communication between the satellite and the ground for the first time in the world, thus enabling us to build a quantum secure communication and scientific experiment system integrating space and earth. Through models, multimedia curved screens and electromechanical interactions, this exhibition introduces the architecture and importance of the space-ground integrated quantum secure communication network with Micius as the core, and how Micius connects with the ground to send quantum keys.
