Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibition integrates multiple cryptography interactive display modules, starting from the development of cryptography applications and cryptography, showing the development process of cryptography, and finally revealing the irreplaceable encryption superiority of quantum keys in the field of encryption by demonstrating quantum key generation technology.
How to Operate
This exhibition demonstrates the development of encryption technology and the importance of quantum encryption technology through various interactions. The Caesar cipher machine consists of a classic Caesar cipher disc and a multimedia screen. The plaintext and key will be given on the multimedia screen. The audience will turn the outer disc to the corresponding number, and then read out the ciphertext based on the plaintext and verify it. The Cardano lattice cipher consists of a multimedia display and a sliding key pad that viewers slide to try to decipher the ciphertext. The Virginia cipher machine consists of a curved cipher table, a horizontal sliding rod, a vertical sliding rod, and a multimedia device. The audience can move the sliding rod to decipher the cipher text. The Enigma cipher machine displays the shape of the cipher machine and the historical story of World War II. Asymmetric encryption technology explains the principle of RSA encryption through video. Quantum cryptography educates viewers about its security and underlying principles through a multimedia interactive game.
Quantum cryptography is a new cryptographic system based on modern cryptography and quantum mechanics, using quantum physics methods to realize cryptographic ideas and operations. It uses quantum states as the key for information encryption and decryption. Traditional cryptography systems are generally based on mathematics, but with the enhancement of computers' ability to process information, these passwords are easily cracked. However, quantum cryptography is based on the principles of quantum physics and uses the principles of quantum mechanics to achieve the distribution of quantum keys through quantum signals. Its main advantages are provable safety and detectability of disturbances.
