Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibits consist of 8 optical elements including concave and convex lenses, concave and convex reflectors, right-angled prisms, wedge mirrors, pentaprisms and parallel glass bricks, laser light sources and operating handwheels. Demonstrate the divergence, convergence, reflection, refraction, translation and other changes of light to understand the characteristics of optical elements. Light propagates along straight lines in the same homogeneous medium. But when light rays travel from one medium to another, they are refracted or reflected at the interface between the two media. The exhibits consist of eight optical components including concave and convex lenses, concave and convex reflectors, right-angled triangular prisms, wedge-shaped mirrors, pentaprisms and parallel glass bricks, laser light sources and operating handwheels. When parallel light rays travel from the air to the optical element, the path of the light changes. This shows the divergence, convergence, reflection, refraction, translation and other changes of light, so as to understand the characteristics of optical elements.
How to Operate
① Turn the "Select" handwheel to select different optical elements and make the laser point toward the selected optical element; 2. Turn the "Adjustment" handwheel to adjust the angle of the optical element and observe the changes in the path of light passing through the optical element.
