Purpose & Scientific Principle
This exhibit is a large-scale hanging light and shadow science landmark in the atrium of the exhibition area. It is composed of multiple groups of scattered streamlined water drop shapes. The curved surface is made of rainbow gradient light-transmitting materials. It relies on the overall hanging arrangement on the roof of the venue to cover the entire exhibition space. It is a large-scale color exhibit that combines artistic aesthetics and optical knowledge. The surface of the device is composed of a multi-layer light-splitting texture structure. When ambient light passes through the component, it undergoes refraction, dispersion, and diffuse reflection, and naturally decomposes into full spectrum colors of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Viewed from different angles, it will present flowing colored light with varying levels, perfectly demonstrating optical principles such as light dispersion and thin film interference. The staggered water drop shapes are arranged high and low to create an immersive light and shadow space, transforming abstract color and optical knowledge into a visual landscape that can be viewed intuitively. When teenagers walk through it, they can personally observe how light splits into colorful colors, understand the basic physical laws of how white light is composed of multi-colored light, feel the scientific beauty of the interweaving of light, shadow and color, and stimulate their interest in exploring optics and color aesthetics.
