Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibition allows the audience to do puzzles by themselves, understand and feel the charm of aperiodic patterns in mathematics, and feel the visual effects through creative creation.
How to Operate
The exhibition mainly features a magnetic wall, a variety of non-periodic bricks of different shapes, and a rotatable disk.
When participating in the interaction, the audience can assemble bricks of different shapes on the wall according to their own ideas, or they can assemble the bricks on the raised wall. As the puzzle becomes larger and larger, the audience can find that the assembled graphics show non-periodic characteristics.
Audiences can also put the patterns on the rotatable disk, and then rotate the disk to observe the optical illusion effects formed.
Through sufficient simulation and splicing on professional design software in the early stage, the designed bricks can be spliced into various non-periodic patterns. Then, the patterns are customized with silicone and magnetic materials are added to form demonstration props.
