Purpose & Scientific Principle
Starting from around 500 BC, a large number of philosophers and scientists with outstanding intelligence appeared among the Greeks. They were the originators of many disciplines in the future. The exhibition aims to demonstrate in an intuitive and vivid way the profound connection between the mutual influence and inheritance between these scientific figures in ancient Greece and Rome, and to highlight the huge impact that their early pioneering thinking in one or more fields had on later generations.
How to Operate
Greek science is the true pioneer of modern science. In almost every field and every issue, the Greeks left behind their thoughts and are teachers of modern science. Among these brilliant scientific stars are the earliest natural philosophers Thales, Anaximander, Leucippus, and Democritus; the systematic philosophers Plato and Aristotle; and the astronomers Meton, Eudoxus, and Axtarch. , Hipparchus, Ptolemy, there are mathematicians Euclid, Apollonius, Hero, Luopandus, and physicist Archimedes... Many of these geniuses not only made pioneering work in one field, but made achievements in multiple fields. Like Aristotle, he published outstanding insights in almost every field of knowledge and was an out-and-out encyclopedic scholar.
At the same time, there are countless connections between these figures. For example, Pythagoras studied with Thales, which influenced the thoughts of Plato. Plato was the teacher of Aristotle and opposed the thoughts of Democritus... In their relationship of mutual inheritance and mutual influence, it shows the inheritance and development of these natural thoughts and the scientific and humanistic spirit of that era, and has a profound impact on various disciplines in later generations.
