Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibits use a multimedia simulation game to allow the audience to experience and interact with the whole process of the "Chang'e-5" probe carrying lunar samples back to the earth after completing the sampling.
How to Operate
On December 3, 2020, the Chang'e-5 ascender sent the sample-carrying ascender into a predetermined lunar orbit. On the 6th, the Chang'e-5 ascender rendezvoused with the orbiter and returner assembly, and transferred the sample container to the returner. At 12:35, the Chang'e-5 orbiter and returner assembly separated from the ascender and entered the moon-circling waiting stage, preparing to choose an opportunity to return to Earth. On the 8th, the Chang'e-5 ascender deorbited under controlled control and landed at the scheduled landing point. On the 12th, the Chang'e-5 orbiter and returner combination carried out the first lunar-to-Earth transfer incident. On the 16th, the Chang'e-5 probe successfully completed its second lunar-to-Earth transfer orbit correction. In the early morning of December 17, the Chang'e-5 returner landed on Earth carrying lunar samples. This "lunar soil collection" return from space is the second time in 44 years that humans have obtained lunar samples.
The exhibits mainly show the process of the "Chang'e-5" probe returning with lunar soil. With the Chang'e-5 returning to the earth as the background, the game-based interactive idea is used to integrate the various stages of the "Chang'e-5" sampling return and design, enriching the interactive content of the game.
