Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibits combine science and art to create a large-scale Gaofen satellite observation gallery, allowing the audience to understand the composition of the "Gaofen family" members, working principles, technology applications and other related knowledge, and leading the audience to "travel" through Kyushu to experience the great rivers and mountains of the motherland photographed by the Gaofen series of satellites.
How to Operate
The Gaofen series satellites refer to the series of high-resolution earth observation satellites planned by my country's "Gaofen Special Project". At the beginning of this century, high-resolution remote sensing data were still monopolized by foreign countries. In 2010, my country launched a major scientific and technological project on high-resolution earth observation systems, which improved the self-sufficiency rate of high-resolution remote sensing data and completely reversed the long-term dependence on foreign remote sensing data. At present, the Gaofen series of satellites includes Gaofen-1 to Gaofen-14. There are many satellites in the Gaofen satellite series. The same satellite series may be composed of several satellites. Each of them has unique skills, including independent controllability, high resolution of various types (time, space, etc.), and complete satellite system. It has made outstanding contributions to social construction in civil and military fields, such as three-dimensional monitoring of land and resources, land and marine environment monitoring, disaster reduction and relief, transportation infrastructure planning and construction, space-based weather forecasting, main functional area planning, urban and rural construction, three-dimensional surveying and mapping, etc.
The exhibits create an immersive corridor environment and introduce the composition and scientific principles of the Gaofen series satellites to the audience in the art gallery.
