Purpose & Scientific Principle
This exhibit creates a galaxy scene through a series of hanging models, displays the shapes and names of Earth-like planets currently detected by humans, and guides the audience to think about searching for Earth-like planets and finding mankind's second home.
How to Operate
So far, scientists have discovered hundreds of Earth-like planets that are very similar to our Earth within a radius of more than a thousand light years from the Earth, such as Kepler 452b, Proxima Centauri b, Kepler 163c, Kepler 78b, Kepler 186f, Gliese 581d, Gliese 581e, etc. These planets are called "Earth brothers". They are all in the habitable zone of stars, their mass is relatively similar to that of the Earth, and they all have atmospheres.
The exhibits adopt the device design of hanging models to render the atmosphere of the starry sky, focusing on displaying the shapes and names of terrestrial planets detected by humans.
