Purpose & Scientific Principle
This exhibition item is provided by a transformer with hundreds of thousands of volts of high voltage, which breaks down the air between the horn electrodes to form a bow-shaped arc, generates a magnetic field, and causes the arc to move upward. The movement process is similar to climbing a ladder. When the arc is stretched to about 600mm, the applied voltage can no longer maintain the conditions required to generate the arc, and the arc disappears. At this time, a new arc will be generated at the bottom of the horn electrode, forming a recurring arc ladder phenomenon.
How to Operate
This exhibition mainly consists of bicycles, generators and double-tube spiral electrodes. Two bicycles with small generators inside are installed at the front of the booth. Audiences pedal the bicycles. When the pedaling speed reaches a certain level, the small generator starts to work and converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. At the same time, two spiral horn-shaped electrodes generate arcs under the action of high voltage and When the discharge begins, the high temperature of the arc causes the air to heat, ionize and move upward, creating an ascending spiral arc. When it reaches a certain height, the arc cools and extinguishes due to elongation, but new arcs are continuously pulled out from below, showing the wonderful discharge effect of Jacob's Ladder.
1. Bicycle pedals generate electricity;
2. Observe the discharge phenomenon of the metal (horn) electrode.
