Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibits use multimedia and electromechanical interactive methods to display the different forms of carbon existence on the earth and its existence time on the earth. In conjunction with the core installation performance, it introduces various knowledge contents related to the way carbon exists on the earth.
How to Operate
Carbon mainly exists in nature in the form of carbonates, carbon dioxide and organic matter.
Carbon is mainly found in:
1. Carbonate: 6 billion tons
2. Kerogen (organic matter in sedimentary rocks): 150 million tons
3. Carbon dioxide: 720 billion tons in the air; about 38 trillion tons in the ocean
4. Fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas, shale gas, flammable ice, etc.): 4.13 trillion tons
5. Terrestrial biosphere (existing in various forms of organic matter): 2 trillion tons
6.Elements of carbon: diamond, graphite
This exhibit is in conjunction with the core exhibit - Watching the Earth exhibit installation and performance. The exhibits select four common substances on the earth, display their corresponding carbon storage data, and their existence time on the earth, introduce various knowledge contents related to the way carbon exists on the earth, and introduce to the audience the birth of carbon-based life with carbon as the core, and its slow evolution over the long years to develop into the colorful carbon-based civilization today.
