Purpose & Scientific Principle

The exhibits use a pendulum device to continuously refresh the LED display screen, showing the audience the carbon cycle and the birth of carbon-based civilization. And it tells the story of how the past and present earth has been shaped by the carbon cycle. Carbon creates the basis of life on the earth. Intelligent life is born and thrives on carbon. Reveal the role of carbon in the evolution of the earth and life, and show the fate of mankind behind the "double carbon" goal.

How to Operate

The entire earth civilization is a carbon-based civilization. In a sense, the story of carbon is the story of everything. Nature uses magical carbon atoms as the skeleton to build colorful carbon-based life; humans burn carbon-based fuels such as coal and oil to obtain the energy and power needed for survival; modern industry has created thousands of carbon-based materials such as plastics, synthetic fibers, and graphene. From the baby clothes at birth to the casket at the end of life, it continues throughout our lives. It can be said that without carbon, there would be no human civilization today.

Carbon dioxide, carbohydrates, carbon-based life, carbon neutrality, carbon peak, low-carbon life... You may often hear "carbon", but you may not understand "carbon", and you may not have the insight that carbon atoms have profoundly shaped the evolution of all things on earth from beginning to end through countless reincarnations. The Big Bang, the mystery of the center of the earth, plate movement, the origin of life, the evolution of life, the Cambrian explosion of life, volcanic eruptions, climate change, plastic pollution, energy crisis, new materials... From the origin of the universe to modern civilization, carbon footprints are almost everywhere!

The exhibits interpret the changes of carbon in the earth's 4.5 billion years - carbon dioxide, carbohydrates, carbon-based life, carbon neutrality, carbon peak, etc., through the form of a clock, and then use the combination of the pendulum swing of the clock and the display screen to tell the existence time and changing form of carbon on the earth.

. The exhibits reveal to the audience the role of carbon in the evolution of the earth and life, and show the fate of mankind behind the "double carbon" goal.
