Purpose & Scientific Principle
Drawing on the clue wall model, the public can learn about the main causes of water pollution through step-by-step decryption.
How to Operate
Water pollution is water caused by harmful chemicals that reduce or lose the use value of water and pollute the environment. Acids, alkalis, oxidants, compounds such as copper, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, and organic poisons such as benzene, dichloroethane, and ethylene glycol in sewage can poison aquatic life and affect drinking water sources and scenic spots. When organic matter in sewage is decomposed by microorganisms, it consumes oxygen in the water and affects the life of aquatic organisms. After the dissolved oxygen in the water is exhausted, the organic matter undergoes anaerobic decomposition and produces unpleasant gases such as hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans, further deteriorating the water quality.
Pollutants mainly include: industrial wastewater discharged without treatment; domestic sewage discharged without treatment; farmland sewage caused by the extensive use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides; industrial waste and domestic garbage piled on the river; deforestation, soil erosion; and mine sewage produced due to over-exploitation.
The exhibits take task puzzle solving as the starting point and capture the current craze of puzzle games as design inspiration. The booth design is in the form of a clue wall, combined with a projection game, to guide the audience step by step to find out the real killer of water pollution, giving participants a strong sense of involvement, attracting the attention of young people, guiding the audience to understand the main causes of water pollution, and stimulating the audience's awareness of protecting water resources.
