Purpose & Scientific Principle
The exhibit displays the carbon emissions of different means of transportation in the form of a lamp bead matrix device, allowing the audience to understand the carbon emissions produced by taking different means of transportation.
How to Operate
While the transportation industry brings convenience to life, it also causes problems such as energy crisis and urban environmental pollution. The transportation industry’s carbon emissions rank second among energy-related industries. From 2010 to 2019, carbon dioxide emissions in various fields of my country's transportation sector have been increasing. Among them, roads have the largest carbon emissions, accounting for more than 50% of the total carbon dioxide emissions in all fields, and the surge in passenger cars and fuel vehicles are important causes.
(Ranking of transportation emissions per passenger kilometer):
• Short-haul flights – 255g
•Mid-size car (gasoline)-192g
•Mid-size car (diesel)-171g
• Medium flight – 156g
• Long haul flights – 150g
•Bus-105g
•Mid-sized motorcycle-103g
•Petrol car (two persons)-96g
•Mid-sized EV-53g
•Passenger Rail-41g
•Ferry-19g
•International Rail-6g
The exhibits take six types of transportation as the theme, and use the lamp bead matrix device as the technical implementation method to display the carbon emissions emitted by the six types of transportation for every 1 km of travel, allowing the audience to understand the differences in carbon emissions of each type of transportation.
